First of all, you do know 어and 오, don’t you?
How do they differ though?

The main difference is you do not utilize your mouth or tongue to utter such words.

어 : Drop your jaw to the downside, not to pucker up your lips and pronounce
opposite of 어. pucker your lips tightly, exhale air with a sound.
Korean vowels can be divided into short single-stroke words and double-stroke ones;
which head in four directions when writing them: up & down and right & left.

A double-strokes vowels are composed by adding an extra ‘Y’ sound to the single-strokes.
Vowels with identical direction/strokes have the same pronunciation but the ‘Y’ sound.
